Whether it’s robotics club, a sports team, or homework help, all 91¶¶Òõ’s Aid community schools and centers provide quality activities that help kids reach their full potential.
We offer a wide array of extended-day programming for children and youth (ages 6-18) enrolled in our services throughout the school year, including academic enrichment, arts and technology instruction, leadership development, fitness and recreation, community engagement, college readiness, and exposure to career possibilities.
Youth Leadership
Leadership development is a staple of after-school programming across all of our sites, providing young people the opportunity to flex their innate strengths.
The East Harlem Keystone Club, a component of the Boys & Girls Club of America, is a prime example. Young people ages 14-18, guided by an adult supervisor, plan and organize activities centered on three focus areas: academic success, career preparation, and community service.
Culinary Arts
The Go!Chefs program is a hands-on cooking and nutrition education curriculum that introduces children and youth (ages 6-18) to the pleasures of preparing and enjoying nutritious food that tastes good. Students learn basic cooking skills using fresh fruits and vegetables, and are empowered to make healthy food choices.
Academic and Career Readiness Support
Hope Leadership Academy is a teen center with individual or group tutoring that helps them improve their grades in high school and stay on track for college. Teens commit to a schedule with a trained tutor for an hour a week in targeted academic subjects.
Hope Leadership Academy also gives youth a safe place where they can process their feelings on violence in the community, develop strong peer relationships, and participate in external-facing programs—such as internships and job programs—with an eye toward career readiness.
*Many of the after-school programs, clubs, and classes offered at our centers and schools use (BGCA) curricula. 91¶¶Òõ’s Aid is a founding member of BGCA.
