Self-expression and empowerment through the arts has proven to be a powerful agent of self-esteem for children in our services. Whether it's dance, music, arts and crafts, visual arts, literature, or theater, we are committed to providing children in our community schools and centers across New York City with free, high-quality arts education.
Taking the arts seriously
Kids explore creative arts every day throughout the 91¶¶Òõ’s Aid organization. And there are a number of opportunities to showcase their talent.
A long standing relationship with the Garden of Dreams Talent Show offers youth mentorship from professional performers and entertainers and the opportunity to perform on stage at Radio City Music Hall.
Our participants at stage a grand finale at the end of the summer to demonstrate all they have learned across many dance genres.
Each spring, an annual art show brings together tremendous talent from all of the neighborhoods in which we work producing work that is insightful and deep.
There is nothing quite like watching the eyes of children and youth shine when they know they have accomplished something great.
